There are few places that capture the imagination of a traveler more than Italy.

Just the word "Italy" conjures images of blissful canal boat rides...
Awe-inspiring mountain vistas with rewarding hiking treks...
And piles of handmade all-you-can-eat pasta around every street corner...
These are the reasons over 70 million tourists flock to visit Italy year after year.

But most of those tourists NEVER summit a mountain, tour WW1 ruins, or roadtrip through Italy's mountain backroads.

That's exactly what we'll be doing on my WanderBlue Eco-Tour in Italy.

Here's exactly what to expect when you join.👇

Here's The 7-Day Eco-Tour Itinerary In Italy

The 7-Day Italy Eco-Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Fly into Venice and drive to our mountain chateau in Levico Terme

When you arrive in Venice, you'll be be picked up at the airport and whisked away to our mountain chateau.
This home is normally used as a ski lodge for groups of up to 50 overnight guests!

But in the Summer and Fall, this bustling ski community turns into a quiet, wild paradise (that means there will be no snow on the ground when we arrive).

Located on a mountain ridge only minutes away from a from panoramic valley views...
This home was chosen to give you a scenic wilderness themed retreat away from endless crowds who flock to Italy's cities.

When you arrive in the afternoon of our first day in Italy, you will rest and recover from your flight.

Dinner will be provided for you, so your only job will be to eat, settle in, and get ready for tomorrow's adventure.

Day 2
WW1 Ruins Hiking

But about 100 years ago, many of the mountains in Italy were ravaged by WW1.

Trenches were dug, bombs were dropped, and countless fortifications were built.

In fact, right out the front door of our Italian chateau is a historic site called Fort Verle.
This fort was part of a 30 kilometer defensive grid built by the Austro-Hungarian army to prevent the advance of the Italians between 1904 and 1917.

This fort in particular was built to be a bomb proof structure that could house heavy artillery like Howitzers.

This fort is within walking distance of our home, and will provide a good early morning adventure to help you work off the jet lag and learn about nature's ability to recover after the war.

After Fort Verle, we'll continue our hike up the mountain to see even more WW1 fortifications and get our first vista view of the trip.

Day 3
Castle Tour and Local Italian Pasta

Day 3 will be our first roadtrip day out of our home and into the countrysides of Italy.

We'll start with a tour at Benseno Castle.
Follow it up with a hike through "Le Fiabe Nel Bosco" (the fairytale forest).
And end the day in downtown Levico Terme for your first taste of authentic Italian Pasta!
By the time you leave Italy, it is my goal for you to confidently make Italian style pasta at home to impress your friends and family.

But before you try making pasta yourself, you need an authentic experience of sampling it in a family Italian restaurant.

This meal is included with your admission price for the trip.

Day 4
Italian Food Tour + Make Your Own Pasta Night

On the morning of day 4 we're going to skip breakfast at the house to make sure you have a BIG appetite for our street food tour in Trento.

This particular region of Italy is famous for 4 specific kinds of street food.

Canederli (bread dumplings typically mixed with speck or cheese)
Carne Salada (thinly sliced cured beef)
Strangolapreti (spinach and bread gnocchi)
Strudel di mele (apple strudel)
In addition to these popular street foods, we'll walk together through downtown Trento taste testing ANYTHING that sparks your interest including pasta, gyros, local cheeses, and pizza.

Try everything and eat to your fill, because you're going to use this experience to make your own pasta dinner at the house!
That's right, in addition to eating a TON of local Italian foods, you'll also get to try your hand at making your own pasta for dinner.

All ingredients and hands on instructions will be provided, but you will be responsible for the preparation and execution of homemade pasta this night!

Alongside your fellow travelers, you will work together to make pasta that we will all share for dinner at our home in the mountains.

Day 5
Roadtrip to the Three Peaks of Lavaredo in the Dolomites

Now that you've enjoyed an authentic taste of Italy's food scene, it's time to head North and experience mountains unlike anywhere else on Earth.
These are the Italian Dolomites.

And on this day, we'll wake up before the sun rises to head North and spend an entire day in the mountains hiking, swimming, and, of course, eating😋.

We'll start with a 6 mile hike around the Tre Cime Lavaredo.
From there we'll go straight into a 2 mile hike to the "Mountains of Mordor" panoramic viewpoint.
When your legs are good and properly sore, we'll end the day at Lake Misurina for a late lunch and a swim.
This will be a long adventure day out of the house. So come ready to move!

Day 6
Rest Day + Bonus Hike

If you are sore from the day of hiking before, don't worry.

This is your day to rest and eat at the restaurants within walking distance of our house.

But if you are still ready to go, today is your chance for a bonus hike and/or a drop off in town to shop.
For dinner, we'll go out to a local hotel restaurant for our final big meal together as a group.

Day 7
Tour Venice, Italy's "Floating City"

Never on any trip before this have I ever put "tour the city" on an Eco-Tour page.

This is because cities are usually too big...

Usually too crowded...

Usually too polluted...

And overall, just too chaotic to create a good group travel experience.

But on this Eco-Tour to Italy, we're making an exception to visit one of the weirdest cities on Earth.

Unlike other cities that are flooded with traffic and too noisy to think straight...

Historic Venice is a traffic free city.

Instead of cars, tour buses, and honking cargo trucks weaving their way through traffic, the only transportation available in historic Venice is by boat on the canals.
That alone makes this city an absolute must-do.

But aside from the unique, traffic-free experience you get in Venice, this city is also home to one of the most amazing works of architecture anywhere on Earth.

The Saint Mark's Basilica.
The unbelievable building dates all the way back to 828 AD.

Originally constructed to house the stolen body and relics of Patron Saint Mark, this building has one of the weirdest and most storied pasts of any piece of concrete on the planet.

Your "skip the line" tour of the St. Mark's Basilica is included in your registration price. And after our tour, you are free to enjoy your last night in Italy how you see fit.

Meet your guide

I'M JAKE BLUE

I still remember coming home from my first day in 3rd grade and telling my mom...
"I feel like a caged fox at school."
😅

Now looking back, it's easy to see I was destined to become a travel guide.

My earliest memories are running away from my babysitter to go on solo hikes.

My first fascinations were bears, deer, and turkeys that wandered through my backyard.

And while my high school and college friends went to parties, I would spend my weekends hiking to mountain caves without a flashlight to "see how good my night vision was".

Then I Became A Hobo And Hitchhiked Across America In 2018.

From Charleston, South Carolina all the way up to Sandpoint, Idaho - I hitchhiked.

It was the hardest thing I'd ever done. But as hard as it was, I loved every second of being on the road seeing the country.

Sure, a lot of the trip was spent dealing with chaos of the cities, avoiding crazy people with knives, and illegally jumping on cargo trains to get to the next state...

But in between all that, I found a few precious moments of wild wonder.

Out there on the road I got to see the Red Pine forests of Georgia...

The high alpine moss flats of Colorado...

And the geothermal geysers of Yellowstone.

That's when I knew I would spend the rest of my life searching for the WILDEST adventure destinations around the world.

Over the next few years I moved into my car...
Finished my 50 state tour of America ending in Delaware...
Bought a campervan and created my dream travel vehicle...
And eventually started my travel business called...

WanderBlue Adventure Company

Through WanderBlue, I help people make their dream trips Easier, more Affordable, and more FUN than ever before with amazing Eco-Tours around the world.

How Much Is It To Join This Dolomites Eco-Tour In Italy?

Great question.

And the answer = a lot less than you probably think.

See, I've found that most popular travel companies charge $10,000-$20,000+ for a week long trip.

That's great for some people...

But I believe ecotourism should be available to ANYONE who's serious about adventure.

So that's why coming on this Eco-Tour to Italy won't be $20,000...

$15,000...

$10,000...

$5,000...

Or even $3,500 to get the full wilderness experience in Italy.

To join this Eco-Tour in Italy is only $2,800.

But, in order to qualify for this price, you MUST fill out an application and book your call with me to ensure you're a good fit to join before registering.

So when you click the button below, you'll be taken to short 3 question application form, and book a 1-1 call with me.

6. Who SHOULD come on this trip?
I created this tour as a perfect adventure for wilderness loving adventurers.

Yes, you'll get to see the castles and canals and street food vendors...

But the majority of our time on this trip will be spent outside hiking.

This trip is for you if you LOVE being outdoors.

This trip is also designed for people who are ok sharing spaces.

Like all WanderBlue trips, there will be separate men's and women's rooms, but your sleeping situation will be in a bunk bed in a room with other travelers.

So the people who will thrive on this trip are people who love interacting with other qualified adventurers who are as excited about exploring Italy's mountains as you are.
7. Who SHOULD NOT come on this trip?
Like I said, this trip is designed for hikers who LOVE spending time out of the house exploring the world.

Of course, all excursions out of the house are optional. So if you don't feel like heading out to hike a mountain one day, no problem.

But, if you are not comfortable walking several miles a day through towns, up mountains, or even walking on the beach, then be aware that I will not change the group's schedule to accommodate you.

In addition, note that you will be sharing spaces with other travelers.

As every experienced traveler knows, sharing spaces with great people creates the BEST memories on almost every trip you'll ever go on.

But if you are intolerant of bunk beds, unable to be courteous to other travelers, or determined to complain for whatever reason, this is not the space for you.
